Orion International Academy awards merit scholarships to students in each freshman class who show the greatest academic promise. There are multiple levels of merit scholarships available, and you will find descriptions of each level listed below. Academic scholarships are awarded on the basis of the student’s performance as their grades from the 8th grade and good school citizenship.
The Dr. Ching Lin Wu Presidential Scholarship is a $10,000 – $15,000 scholarship awarded annually to incoming freshmen who place in the top 2% who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement and good school citizenship. The scholarship is renewed annually for four years, provided the recipient remains in good academic standing.
The Principal’s Scholarship is a tuition scholarship ranging from $1,500 – $2,000 annually, awarded to one or more students who place in the top 5-7% who have a solid record of academic achievement and good school citizenship.These scholarships are renewed annually for four years, provided the recipients remain in good academic standing.
This is a full four-year tuition scholarship awarded annually to a student who demonstrates strong sports skills and potentials. Provided by Dream Builders Integrated Foundation, the athletic director’s scholarship is a tuition scholarship ranging from $1,500 – $5,000 annually, awarded to one or more students who demonstrate leadership skills and ability in their respective sport(s). These scholarships are renewed annually for four years, provided the recipients remain in good academic standing and good standing with their sports team.
Financial need is a specific requirement. To qualify, families must submit a FACTS financial aid application by February 15 each year. Students who qualify for the scholarship, based on both academic criteria and financial need, will be invited to apply in March and the scholarship is awarded in April.
