Orion is happy to state that we are an AP Capstone school. College Board has crafted a one-of-kind program that prepares students for the challenge of college life through two courses: AP Seminar and AP Research.
With the direction of our talented faculty, students learn to master argument-based writing skills and experience unique research opportunities. Students who complete and pass the program exams will be granted the AP Seminar and Research Certificate.
The accomplishment of receiving an AP Capstone certification promotes our current Advanced Placement program by challenging students to integrate information learned through research and writing. Skills that many students will not fully learn until they get to college.
AP Capstone™ is a College Board program that teaches students how to conduct independent research, collaborative teamwork, and communication skills that are increasingly prized by colleges. This creates curious, independent, and collaborative scholars and prepares them to make logical, evidence-based decisions.
AP Capstone is composed of two AP courses – AP Seminar and AP Research – and is crafted to complement and enhance the discipline-specific study in other AP courses.
